How does a light box work?
Dec 09, 2024
A lightbox frame works by utilizing an internal lighting source to illuminate a graphic from behind. The basic structure of a light up poster frame consists of an exterior frame and a translucent panel that holds the graphic. There are two common types of light boxes: Edgelit and Backlit.
In an Edgelit poster light box, the LED bulbs are positioned along the edges of an acrylic panel that has been etched to disperse the light. The graphic is placed directly on top of this panel, followed by a cover sheet. When the LEDs are turned on, the light is transmitted through the edges of the acrylic panel, causing it to spread across the graphic to create an evenly illuminated display.
The choice between Edgelit and Backlit led light box display depends on factors such as the desired effect, the size of the light box, and budget considerations. Edgelit light boxes are often more cost-effective and are suitable for smaller sizes, while Backlit light boxes are generally used for larger graphics and offer a more intense illumination.
In summary, a light box utilizes internal LED lighting to backlight a graphic, creating a visually appealing and illuminated display. The specific design and arrangement of the lighting determine whether the light box is Edgelit or Backlit, providing different lighting effects and options for various applications
